CNC Routing in Ocean City, Maryland
A CNC router is a computer controlled tool that can cut and create objects from a variety of materials. CNC stands for computer numerical control. Parts of a project can be designed in the computer with a CAD/CAM program, and then cut automatically using a router to produce a finished part.
In October of 2017 we acquired a 5′ x 10′ Biesse Rover Plast J CNC machine with an automatic tool changer and a camera system. This machine gives us the ability to surface, shape, and create objects out of wood, aluminum, acrylic, pvc, and various other materials. The same pieces that used to take hours using table saws can now be programmed and cut on the CNC machine. The automatic tool changer allows us to program a multiple step operation and the machine will seamlessly change tools and do slot cuts, drill holes, use the 45 degree bevel bit, and then pick up the finishing bit to make the final pass.
One of the most exciting features of our CNC is the ability to do Print to Cut work. We can now print images, trophies, awards, signs, etc. on our flatbed printer and then cut them out on the CNC. The camera system on the CNC will scan the full sheet of material and then perfectly follow the cut lines that we send over. This means that we can cut out the shape of a printed logo, make custom shaped awards, trophies, signs, and even freestanding point of display racks by utilizing the flatbed printer and CNC router combination. Whether its a large shaped aluminum sign for your business or thousands of custom shaped wooden ornaments to sell in your store, our flatbed printing and CNC routing technology will make it happen! Everyday we are learning a new way to use this machine and we will keep this page updated with our latest projects!
